Built for the classroom

Music notation that works on
every school device.

No installs. No IT tickets. QuickStave runs in the browser — on Chromebooks, iPads, lab computers, and students’ phones. Team plans give your department admin controls and exports from $40/seat/year — with no eligibility verification required.

Sound familiar?

“We can’t install Sibelius on Chromebooks.”

QuickStave is a web app. If it has a browser, it runs QuickStave. Chrome OS, iPadOS, Windows, macOS, Linux — all the same experience.

“The school won’t approve another software budget.”

At $40/seat/year, a class of 30 costs less than a single Sibelius licence. No eligibility paperwork, no reseller quoting — just a credit card or purchase order.

“Students can’t finish assignments at home.”

Every score syncs to the cloud, with 5 GB per member. Work follows the student, not the device. Start in the lab, finish on a phone.

“Submitting work is a nightmare.”

Students share a link from any device — free. Because your teachers are on a Team, they can open it and download a clean, watermark-free PDF or MusicXML to mark and archive. No “I can’t open .sib files.”

“Group composition projects are chaos.”

Students invite each other with a free co-edit link and write together in real time — no emailing files back and forth, no confusion about whose copy is newest.

Real-Time Group Composition Projects

A shared composition assignment used to mean a group chat full of file attachments and nobody sure which version was final. In QuickStave, a group opens one shared score and writes it together, live — every note visible to the whole group as it happens, free on every plan. See the full real-time collaboration page for how it works in detail.

Can students collaborate on a composition assignment in real time?

Yes. Any student can invite groupmates with a free co-edit link, and everyone works in the same score at once — no emailing files back and forth, no confusion about whose copy is newest.

Do students need a Team account to collaborate?

No — real-time co-editing is free for any signed-in user on any plan, including Free. A Team plan adds admin controls and exports for a department, not collaboration itself.

Can a teacher watch a group compose without joining as an editor?

Yes. Share for Viewing generates a separate read-only link, so a teacher (or anyone) can watch a group's score update live without becoming an editor.

How many students can co-edit one score?

You choose a seat limit when creating the edit-invite link, so a two-person pair project and a whole-class arrangement both work.

Does group composition work on Chromebooks?

Yes — the whole editor, including real-time co-editing, runs in the browser with no install, exactly like the rest of QuickStave.
