Refund & Cancellation Policy

Version 1.1 · Effective 13 August 2026 · change history

Short version: cancel whenever you like from your account settings. If you change your mind about paying, tell us within 14 days — 30 days for a lifetime purchase — and we will refund you, no questions asked.

1. Cancelling a subscription

Cancel at any time from your account settings. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period. Your Pro features continue until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account returns to Free.

Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends. Your scores remain in your account and you can keep viewing, editing, playing and printing them. In-app export stays available for a further 30 days so you can take copies of your work without needing to ask, and after that you can still request a free copy at any time (Terms §12).

One thing does change, and we would rather you heard it here than discovered it: publishing to the public gallery is a Pro feature, so any scores you had set to Public are made Private again when a subscription ends. The scores themselves are untouched, but links to them will stop working.

Unlisted scores keep working. Unlisted sharing — anyone with the link, not listed anywhere — is part of the free plan, so it is not something a subscription ending takes away. If you have shared a score with an ensemble by link, that link is unaffected.

2. Our refund promise

We would rather refund you than argue with you.

What you boughtRefund window
Pro monthly or annual subscription 14 days from purchase or renewal
Pro lifetime 30 days from purchase
Team seats 14 days from purchase — see section 5

Within those windows you do not need to give a reason, and it does not matter whether you have used the paid features. Email [email protected] from the address on your account. We aim to reply within a few days, and refunds are returned to the original payment method by Stripe, usually within 5–10 working days depending on your bank.

Outside those windows we are not obliged to refund, but ask anyway if something has gone wrong. If QuickStave failed to do what we said it would, that is our problem to fix.

3. Your statutory right to cancel

This section sets out rights the law gives you. Our promise in section 2 sits on top of them and is deliberately more generous — it does not replace them.

If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason.

For digital content and services that begin immediately, that right can end once performance has started — but only if you asked for it to start straight away and acknowledged that you would lose the right by doing so. Many services ask you to tick exactly that box at checkout.

We do not ask you to. Your 14-day statutory right is unaffected by buying from us, and it sits alongside our own promise in section 2 rather than being replaced by it. If the two ever differ, whichever is better for you applies.

To withdraw, email [email protected] saying so. You may use the model withdrawal form provided under consumer law, but you do not have to — a plain message is enough.

4. Lifetime purchases

A lifetime purchase can be refunded within 30 days, as above.

Separately, if we ever announce that QuickStave is being discontinued, we will refund lifetime purchases made in the 12 months before that announcement. The service and export keep running for at least 12 months after it. See Terms §10.

5. Team plans

Team seats are billed annually. Within 14 days of purchase the whole order can be refunded.

After that, seats are committed for the year: reducing your seat count mid-term does not generate a refund or a credit, and unused seats do not roll over into the next year. You can add seats at any time, charged pro-rata for the remainder of the term. We state this plainly because annual commitments are the norm in education purchasing and it should not be a surprise at renewal.

6. Chargebacks

Please contact us before asking your bank to reverse a payment. A chargeback costs us a fee and takes weeks; an email usually takes a day, and inside the windows above the answer is yes anyway.

7. Free accounts

Nothing to refund — the free tier costs nothing and does not expire. You can delete your account at any time from Edit Profile in the app.

8. Contact
