Restoring an earlier version
The History toggle in Score Properties lists every saved version of a cloud-synced score, with a live preview and one-click restore.
Ctrl+P opens Score Properties. For a signed-in user on a cloud-synced
score, a 🕑 History toggle appears in the panel header and switches
the whole panel to Version History — a list of every saved version with a
live preview and a restore button. A local-only score that hasn’t synced
to your account yet has no History toggle to show.
Browsing versions
Versions are listed newest-first, grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, then the full date), each showing a timestamp and file size. They’re created automatically as you edit — there’s no manual “save version” step and nothing to turn on. Selecting one loads a live rendered preview on the right — the real music font, not a screenshot — and Load older versions at the bottom of the list fetches further back.
This is separate from Ctrl+Z undo: undo steps back through edits in the
current session and is lost on reload, while Version History reaches back
across sessions and devices for as long as the score has been cloud-synced.
Restoring a version
Restore this version replaces the score’s current content with the selected version. A confirmation dialog explains that the current state is saved as a new version first, so restoring is never a one-way trip — the version you restored from is always still there afterward. Confirming closes the panel and reloads the score.
The preview carries the same free-tier “Made with QuickStave” watermark as Print Preview; Pro removes it. Restoring itself has no plan gate.
On a phone
The list and preview become two separate views instead of side-by-side columns — tapping a version opens its preview with a Back button to return to the list.
